Our Values
We believe in honesty, openness and accountability. We always act responsibly, do our best and expect our Trustees, staff and volunteers to own and share these values.
At the same time, Stonepillow’s vision needs the foundation of organisational values for it to be realised. Our organisational values are:
- Client driven: the association encourages ‘inclusivity’ among its clients in the running of the association
- Caring employer: we value our board members, staff and volunteers
- Innovative: we look for solutions to problems
- Developing: we encourage the best out of staff and volunteers
- Effective: we provide meaningful and effective solutions for client welfare
- Efficiency: we strive to achieve value for money
Our history
The Christian Care Association (CCA) was formed in 1989 following a sermon given by the Reverend Hilary Parsons concerning the death of an ex-Graylingwell patient in a public toilet in Chichester Westr Sussex.
The Association was registered as a charity in 1991 (St Richard of Chichester Christian Care Association, charity no 1000830) and also as a Company Limited by Guarantee (company no 2504171). Over the years the original aims have been built upon and new services have been developed and managed by CCA.

In 2007 we received a grant of £489,091 over three years from The Big Lottery Fund toward the running costs of St Martin’s Day Centre. This money from the Reaching Communities programme has enabled the St Martin’s Day Centre in West Street, Bognor Regis to be re-opened and made available to the association’s homeless clients six days a week.
